UniMaps.com

This site is dedicated to presenting political maps in four areas of study; Africa, Middle East, Far East and South America.

Africa and the Middle East will be completed in 2003, the Far East and South America will be online in 2005.

In addition to current maps, we have included maps from 1886 showing the expansion of European influence and eventual domination. Essentially, this is a site that shows in map form, the grab for the new world by the old, from 1886 to 1923 -the "Colonial Era".

Africa Colonial maps start about the time of the Berlin Conference at the eve of the "Scramble for Africa", and end just prior to WWI in 1914.

The Middle East Colonial maps are of 1914 and 1923, a period between the last gasp of the great 500 year old Ottoman Empire, the grab by France and England of most this territory, and the rise of Arab nationalism.

We also will show special interest maps in closeup. For example; the Okavango Delta, Suez Canal, Pyramids of Giza, Baalbec, and others.

We welcome your feedback. If you have any suggestions, have pertinent data that could be of use, or have noticed any errors please contact us.

Enjoy the show.
