Gravity Games

The first-ever Gravity Games — were you there? Did you launch a horny gorilla? Exit the airplane eating your lunch? Or head-bang to German karaoke at 1am?

Saturday, April 16th, trash talking and radical skydiving was underway with fifteen participants all vying for gold and glory. After a day of extreme tracking, canopy running, and hybrid hanging, there was a 3-way tie for 1st place. As promised, the camera geeks from round two went up on the screens over pizza and beer — audience applause deciding the winner...
Kang, Chris Halsan, and Amy Recca were at the mercy of the masses. First Kang’s wing and a prayer out the door scored him the bronze medal. Amy and Chris battled it out each with an underwater theme. Chris went for the perfectly executed breast stroke into the relative wind, goggles and snorkel, snatching the silver. Amy went for the flailing flippers and a swim camp to take the gold.

Not to be outdone, Javier Figueroa and Ryan Simpson got special prizes for taking hits for their teams in the name of winning. And Mike Brunson blew everyone away with his supreme canopy running skills.

After prizes, the tunes started cranking and the jello shots started flowing. At some point a rubber band war was started, Lou ran for Pope, and more than likely Eddie was dancing through the whole thing. Huge thanks to everyone who came out and made the first Gravity Games a big success — it only gets better!

Gravity Games 2 is coming up July 9th, 2005… the big screen awaits... start planning your geek now…
