Chris Fiala of Elsinore Eclipse hosted the first Total Eclipse Freefly and Swoop competition July 5th-7th at Skydive Elsinore. The event raised $2,000 in an auction held on Saturday night, featuring items ranging from any stock Mirage container to helmets, freefly suits, and altimeters. All money raised in the auction went directly into a cash purse for the prize money.

The event consisted of four rounds of freeflying (three speed and one free round), and three rounds of swooping or accuracy. Chris Salcone, Kurt Issel, and Scott Meeker of team Guano from Davis, California took home first, second, and third place in the open division winning $1,500.

The remaining $500 was split between Jonathon Tagle, first place intermediate, John "Swoop" Sherman, second place, and Robert "Tigger" Brockman, third.

As a result of this year’s success, Elsinore Eclipse will be hosting Total Eclipse again next year, July 4th - 6th at Skydive Elsinore.
